We DID move!

We finally moved from the house in Meeker , we stayed there wishing we had something larger for almost 6 years.  Although we put a lot into it by adding outbuildings and recently built a barn/shop, it has always not quite met our needs somehow.  The land was hilly, not set up well for using the 15 ac. we had, and Sandi didn’t like the horses being so far from the house.  It was especially nice to get away from our neighbor who was quite a psycho .  We were fortunate that an oilfield worker that originally grew up in Meeker was moving back as were his parents, and he wanted to get a place with horse facilities and a shop.

Anyway, we are here in Delta, a much more temperate zone in what is often called the Colorado banana belt.  The property is a nice place with a bit larger home than we had, on about 13 ac.  The difference is that we have great water rights for the 10 ac. in hay, and the land is flat for the most part.  The home is newer and  we were able to empty our 4 rented storage facilities.  We are now opening boxes of stuff that we haven’t seen in 6 years, it’s like Christmas!

The other great thing about being here in Delta is that we have an actual town within a mile that has normal town stuff like stores, eateries, dog groomers, etc.  And if there is anything that isn’t here or we want more variety, Montrose is just 20 minutes away and Grand Junction is an easy 40 minute trip.

I’m still working at NCT but do a lot of work from home.  I drive to Meeker on Monday mornings (2:15 min) and usually drive back on Tuesday nights.  I can stay at a number of places in town with family or friends, or even at the office which had facilities including a shower.

I’ve attached an image below from Google Earth. (Blurb from Google:  Google Earth streams the world over wired and wireless networks enabling users to virtually go anywhere on the planet and see places in photographic detail.  This is not like any map you have ever seen.  This is a 3D model of the real world, based on real satellite images combined with maps, guides to restaurants, hotels, entertainment, businesses and more.  You can zoom from space to street level instantly and then pan or jump from place to place, city to city, even country to country.  Get Google Earth.   Put the world in perspective.
